Here’s a copy of the affidavits & signatures of the pro-OSGC removal petition that Brian Doxtator has brought against Chairperson Ed Delgado.
A quick review of the names shows that for the most part the petition signatures are made up of the Oneida Seven Generations Corporation fan club. Basically, everyone who on May 5, 2013 likely voted against the petition to prevent OSGC from building dioxin-emitting incinerators on the reservation.
There are a few names of people who were probably lied to, convinced by the con job of Brian Doxtator and his disgraceful disciples that the goal of the petition was to enforce policies & procedures when in reality the goal of the removal petition is to punish Ed Delgado for defending the wisdom and the right of the General Tribal Council to make decisions that affect their own health, safety & welfare regardless of how it affects the wallets of OSGC executives and the bank accounts of private investors whose identities GTC won’t be able to find out if Chief Counsel Jo Anne House is allowed to continue to obstruct GTC’s rightful access to OSGC’s Corporate Disclosure Reports. Jo Anne has still not, to our knowledge, issued a legal opinion replacing the one she wrote in February 2011 which guaranteed GTC access to those documents. (Maybe she’s busy helping with legal defense for some Land Management & Commission peeps & perps.)
One interesting highlight, other than the signatures of the majority of the Tribal staff of OSGC except for Atty. Bill Cornelius (Kevin Cornelius signed the petition but he’s no longer OSGC’s CEO): Appeals Commissioner and giant hypocrite Lois Powless. When asked to sign the petition to dissolve OSGC Lois said that she could not sign a petition because she is an Appeals Commissioner which meant she might later be assigned to make a decision on the matter. Yet Lois signed Brian Doxtator‘s puerile act of vengeance against Chairperson Delgado despite the fact that she knows full well that every removal petition goes directly to the Appeals Commission for consideration. Keep it classy, Lois. Oh, but wait…
Strangely enough, one of the charges made against Chairperson Delgado in the removal petition which Lois Powless signed is that Delgado tried to help an elder ambulate to Green Bay for life-saving dialysis but the Chairperson’s request for medical assistance for the individual was never granted, and it just so happens that the person who requested assistance was Dr. John Powless – Lois Powless’ own son. That’s cold, mama!
Here’s an odd phenomenon: There have been scattered reports of harassment in the Oneida Police Dept. Call Log (where it’s misspelled ‘Harrassment,’ of course) which seem to correspond to the residences and work addresses of some of the people who’ve been called out by Oneida Eye as carrying water for OSGC/Brian Doxtator as well as cited for their unethical conduct as employees of the Tribe. Maybe they were under the mistaken impression that telling the truth about somebody constitutes harassment.
That development seems to go hand-in-hand with the mental meltdown (or ginned up phony paranoia) of Vice-Chair Greg Matson crying about ‘terrorists’ and ‘espionage.’ Perhaps Greg’s lunatic fringe, Joe McCarthy-esque ‘Red Scare’ mentality is why the Business Committee packets now say on the bottom of each page in red letters:
Open session materials available to any enrolled Tribal member, or a Tribal employee who needs a record to perform a duty or responsibility in connection with employment, section 7.3-1 (h), Oneida Open Records and Open Meetings Law
What is the point of that? To suggest that somehow these ‘Open Records’ are only to be viewed by Tribal members?
Once the materials go online, they become accessible to the public and – by the way – the public is paying attention.
So now it’s up to the General Tribal Council to decide what kind of public perception they want to create for the Tribe and for themselves:
- a) The kind of Tribe that rewards unethical corporate executives and their sleazy attack dogs who seek to obliterate democracy & freedom of information for the benefit of a few while they punish ethical leaders for caring about the needs and concerns of the entire Tribal community.
or
- b) The kind of Tribe that defends ethical leaders for caring about the needs and concerns of the entire Tribal community and that punishes unethical corporate executives who lie to the public & elected officials and bring harm to the Tribe’s resources & reputation with disgraceful disregard for the Tribe’s health, safety & welfare using sleazy attack dogs to go after anyone who dares tell the truth about their toxic schemes.
It’s in your hands now, GTC. Proceed wisely. The world is watching.
