The Wisconsin Supreme Court heard oral arguments regarding Case No. 13AP591, Oneida Seven Generations Corporation & Green Bay Renewable Energy, LLC v. City of Green Bay.
UPDATE: The highlight of the oral arguments was when OSGC’s & GBRE’s attorney, Michael Apfeld, said it really shouldn’t matter if OSGC’s waste incinerator would have smokestacks or not because everyone knows that the Hurlbut St. area of Green Bay where OSGC was going to build its waste incinerator is just an “industrial wasteland” anyway.
Ohhhkay.
So why was the original plan approved by the Oneida Business Committee on December 8, 2010 – and reaffirmed by OBC on April 11, 2013 – to build the waste incinerator on the Oneida Tribe’s reservation?
To turn it into an “industrial wasteland”?
Or is that how OBC views the reservation now? As a virtual wasteland?
“Forget it, Jake. It’s Green Bay wasteland.”
A video of the oral arguments is available at WisEye.org.
Audio is available here, and the incriminating “industrial wasteland” comment is at 1:15:44.
