Tribal Cemetery Considerations

In addition to the grievous aspects that must now be addressed in light of the problems with having located the Tribal cemetery in a floodplain – not the least of which is the need to find appropriate conveyance of spiritual reparations owed those personally affected by inadequate stewardship – there are other questions and considerations.

Was the Oneida Environmental Resource Board consulted about the choice of the location? If not, why not? It’s obvious that would have been advisable given that they were making decisions regarding the creation of an artificial lake nearby suitable to the nature of the area.

Now that the need to relocate the cemetery has become acutely obvious, it stands to reason that it may be necessary for the Tribe to request the resources of the Environmental Protection Agency to properly remediate the current site. Will the Oneida Business Committee do so?
